    REFNB-18 DuBois He married Sara at age 26 (Hoes 129) in the Old Dutch Church aKingston. Matthew was a Hurley village trustee in 1725. He kept his father's
    omestead until 1731 when he sold it and moved to Poughkeepsie,. He ended up wi
    h over 2000 acres in Dutchess County. His son, Johannes, was the only one to s
    ay in Ulster County. He purchased 1337 acres in Poughkeepsie. He was a Justice
    in Dutchess County in 1734. In Anjou's Probate Records of Ulster County, Volum
    I (Page 50-52) is a translation of the Dutch will for Louis DuBois, the fathe
    of Matthew. The following pertains to Matthew : Will dated 3-27-1694 : .....
    o my son Matthew, an eight part of the estate. Will dated 2-22-1695/96 : ...to
    my son Jacob half of my farm at Hurley adjoining land of Hyman and Jan Rosa an
    land of Lammert Huybertse, on the condition he pays 1500 shepels of wheat; Ja
    ob to use the other half until my youngest son, Matthew Du Bois, becomes of a
    e, for which he is to pay 50 schepels wheat yearly......I have this day convey
    d to my youngest son, Matthew Du Bois, house and land in Kingston, a parcel of
    meadow land, and one half of my land at Hurley, for which he is to pay 1500 s
    hepels of wheat.
