Zeenath Nisa's father was Syed Abdul Cader and her mother was syed Hameedha Beevi.  Her paternal grandparents were Shehu Mohammed and Mohammed Ibrahim (Ummah); her maternal grandparents were Ahmed Kaasim and Aysha Beevi. She has six brothers and a sister, named Hameed, Ashraf Ali, Amir Sadiq, Naseer, Kamal Abdul Nasar, Zaakir Hussain and Sithy Nagia.  She is the oldest of the eight children.

Zeenath Nisa and Sulthan Sidiq are married.  They have three daughters named Aaminath, Farsana and Azeema Firdous.
