Ronald Gerald Tanguay (paid death notice), 67, of Toledo (Ohio), died October 23, 2000, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio. He was born June 28, 1933, Canton , Ohio, the son of Kerwin Tanguay and Naomi (Rankin) Tanguay. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Ronald, a graduate of Michigan State University, Married Marilyn Butler on Oct. 21, 1961, in Coldwater, Michigan. He was employed by the Coldwater Daily Reporter, The Ann Arbor News, and by the The Toledo Blade for 33 years, retirung in 1998.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn, of Toledo, daughter Michelle (David) DeRoss of Romeo ,Mi; son Matthew (Leisa Thompson), Of Ypsilanti; one granddaughter, Alison DeRoss of Romeo and one sister, Aura-Lee Prophet of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Visitation will be at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Ave., on Wednesday, from 6-9p.m., with a scripture service at 7:00p.m. Services will be held a 10:15a.m., Friday, at the funeral home followed by Mass of the Resurrection at St. Puis X Church at 11:00a.m. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St Pius X Church.
