Josiah was born in 1638 in Dorchester.1   Josiah's father was John Whitcomb and his mother was Frances Coggins.  His paternal grandparents were John Whitcomb and Anne Harper.  He died at the age of 79 on March 21st, 1717 in Lancaster, MA.1

‌Josiah and Rebecca were married in a religious ceremony on November 4th, 1664 in Watertown, MA.1   They had a son named David.
