John (JP) Peter Rankin

John, known as JP, was born on August 16th, 1848 in Dundee, MI.¹

Birth Notes

JP's father was Samuel Rankin Jr and his mother was Rachel Sutherland. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Rankin and Azubah Whitcomb; his maternal grandparents were Eli Sutherland and Thankful Russell. He had a brother and three sisters, named Albert, Thankful, Ellen and Rhoda. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother named Simon. He died at the age of 82 on March 29th, 1931 in Dundee, MI. He was buried at the Maple Grove Cemetery.²¹
