Caroline was born on January 26th, 1840 in South Berwick-York County -Maine.1   Caroline's father was Rev Andrew Rankin and her mother was Lois Eames.  Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Rankin and Dorothy French. She had a brother named Jeremiah.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died at the age of 58 on December 12th, 1898 in Alma, MI.  She was buried in Essex Center, VT.1 



Caroline's family with Henry Edward Butler

‌Caroline and Henry were married in a religious ceremony on May 5th, 1864 in South Berwick-York County -Maine.1   They had three daughters named Sadie, Agnes and Carolyn.
