Rolland was born on December 3rd, 1904 in Horse Heaven Hil,Klickitat,Wa,On Homestead. Rolland's father was John Butler Gordon and his mother was Ola (Ollie) Antoinette Little. His paternal grandparents were Syrenus Gordon and Lousia Ann Johnson. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Ralph, Harry, Lavina and Elise. He was the second youngest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Grace. He died at the age of 57 on May 14th, 1962 in Spokane, WA.¹
