Silence was born on October 30th, 1749 in Mendon, MA.1   Silence's father was John Daniels and her mother was Margaret Boyce.  Her paternal grandparents were John Daniels and Sarah. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Increase, John, William, Samuel, Bethiah, Rachel and Margery. She had a half-brother named Antipas.
