Ophelia was born in 1857 and his christening took place on December 13th, 1849 in Farway, Devon, England. Ophelia's father was Samuel Webber and his mother was Harriet Fraunces Pursey. His paternal grandparents were William Webber and Mary; his maternal grandparents were Richard Percy of Deer Park, Devon and Harriet Fraunceis "Louisa" Griffith. He had three brothers and two sisters, named William, Samuel, Richard, Mary and Harriet. He was the third youngest of the six children.
