Thomas' father was Sir Thomas Percy and his mother was <Unknown>. His paternal grandparents were Henry 5th Earl of Northumberland - "The Magnificent" and <Unknown>. He had a brother named Henry. He died in 1572.

General Notes
- Catholic.
  1557 Queen Mary restored the Earldom of Northumberland to the Percies after a gap of 20 years.
  So in 1557 - 1572 Thomas became the 7th Earl of Northumberland.
  1568 took part in the Rising of the North against Queen Elizabeth I.
  1572 at York beheaded for treason.
  Later beatified as a martyr by the Roman Catholic Church.
  Succeeded by his brother Henry.
