Susannah was born on May 2nd, 1770.  Susannah's father was Cpt Jonathan Hanby and her mother was Sarah Matilda Dalton.  Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Dalton Sr and Anne. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, David, Samuel, Gabriel, William, Mary, Nancy, Jan and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 86 on February 4th, 1857.
