Sarah was born on February 10th, 1787.  Sarah's father was Cpt Jonathan Hanby and her mother was Sarah Matilda Dalton.  Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Dalton Sr and Anne. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, David, Samuel, Gabriel, William, Susannah, Mary, Nancy and Jan.  She was the nineth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 55 on July 22nd, 1842.
