Fred Blaine Deem

Fred was born on April 9th, 1887. Fred's father was Peter Deem and his mother was Letha Viola Cook. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Deem III and Catherine Fought; his maternal grandfather was William T. Cook. He had a brother, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Ralph and Infant. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died due to natural causes or old age, Morquio's disease, at the age of 83 on April 16th, 1970 in Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia. His burial was in Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, West Virginia.¹

General Notes
- In 1915, wrote the words for West Virginia University's fight song, "Hail West Virginia!".
