Nancy was born in 1779.  Nancy's father was David Dalton Sr and her mother was Susanna Davis.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Dalton Sr and Anne. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Isaac, Isham, Jonathan, Charles, David, Elizabeth, Eliza, Nancy, Mary and Susanna.  She was the nineth oldest of the eleven children.
