Margaret Mary was born on August 3rd, 1872 in Iredale, near Helidon, Queensland.  Margaret Mary's father was John O'Brien and her mother was Catherine "Kate" O'Doherty.  Her paternal grandparents are James O'Brien and Bridget Ryan; her maternal grandparents are Martin O'Doherty and Mary Frawley.  She had four brothers and six sisters, named John, Patrick¹, Daniel, Patrick², Mary Ann, James, Katherine, Cornelius, Bridget Mary and Jane.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 76 on February 20th, 1949 in Helidon Catholic Cemetery, Queensland.
