James Joseph was born on June 15th, 1869 in Tarong Station, South Burnett District, Queensland.  James Joseph's father was James McNamara and his mother was Mary Ann Fuller.  His paternal grandparents are John McNamara and Mary Ann Barry; his maternal grandparents were Frederick Fuller and Bridget Beeching.  He had six brothers and five sisters, named Francis John, Frank, William, Edward Patrick, John "Jack", Charles Paris, Sabina, Mary Anne¹, Sarah, Mary Anne² and Minnie May.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 90 on November 11th, 1959 in District Hospital Jandowae, Queensland.  His burial was on November 13th, 1959 in Jandowae Cemetery, Queensland.
