John Allen was born on March 8th, 1917 in Newfarm Strathdickie, Proserpine, Queensland.  John Allen's father was Alexander John MacPherson and his mother was Minnie Mable Fontaine.  His maternal grandparents were August James Fontaine and Sabina McNamara.  He had three brothers and a sister, named Kenneth Alexander, Robert August, Donald Angus and Minnie Mable.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 82 on January 2nd, 2000 in District Hospital Proserpine, Queensland.  His burial was on January 5th, 2000 in Proserpine Lawn Cemetery, Queensland.
