Thomas Arthur was born in January 1906.  Thomas Arthur's father was Richard Horrobin and his mother was Alice Averill.  He had four brothers and six sisters, named John William, Joseph, Richard, Charles, Mary Lizzie, Alice Selina, Louisa, Emily, Jimima and Jane.  He is the youngest of the eleven children.
