David Oliver was born on May 13th, 1902 in Kelsey Creek, Proserpine Queensland.  David Oliver's father was August James Fontaine and his mother was Sabina McNamara.  His paternal grandparents are Gille Fontaine and Lavinia Ann Morris Rider; his maternal grandparents were James McNamara and Mary Ann Fuller.  He had eight brothers and five sisters, named William James, Ernest Alfred, Berty George, Philip Charles, Boxer Robertson, Lawrence Edward, Joseph Henry, Roberson Francis, Minnie Mable, Bertha Maude, Jessie Maria, Queen Ethel and Ivy Kuridala Rose.  He was the sixth oldest of the fourteen children.  He died at the age of 90 on June 16th, 1992 in Richmond, Queensland.
