Camelia was born in in Skogar Undir Eyjafjollum Rangarvallasysla, Iceland.  Camelia's father was Stephen Pincott and her mother was Caroline Simmonds Pincott.  Her maternal grandparents were unkown and Elizabeth Paye (Simmonds). She had two brothers and two sisters, named Frederick, George, Sophia and Sarah.
