Franz was born on July 20th, 1843.  Franz's father was Franz Anton Reuter and his mother was Louise Andreae (Reuter).  His paternal grandparents were Johann Peter Reuter and Margareta Ursula JosFlatten (Reuter); his maternal grandparents were male Andreae and female Andreae. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Carl, Hubert, Elisabeth and Margarethe.  Franz and Carl were twins.  He died at the age of 56 on January 20th, 1900.

Franz and Katherina were married.  They had a biological son named Alfred.  They also had an adopted daughter named Johanna.
