Samia was born in 1965.  Samia's father is Khalil Abou-Rjeily.  Her paternal grandfather is Assad Abou-Rjeily. She has seven brothers and two sisters, named Assad, Ibrahim, Elias, Georges, Sami, Youssef, Toufic, Bader and Georgette.  She is the fourth youngest of the ten children.
