István was born on November 23rd, 1867 in Éberhárd.1   István's father was Nagy Pál and his mother was Mihálek Zsuzsanna.  His paternal grandparents were Nagy Ferenc and Török Katalin; his maternal grandparents were Mihálek György and Auterit Éva. He had six brothers and four sisters, named János, Sándor, György, József, István, Antal, Katalin, Maria, Erzsébet and Mária.  He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at 4 months old on April 17th, 1868 in Éberhárd.1
