János was born on July 26th, 1884 in Esztergom, Szentgyörgymező and his baptism took place on July 28th, 1884 in Esztergom, Vártemplom, Bazilika.1   His godfather was Waldvogel (Ferenc) József.  János' father was Pálmai József and his mother was Waldvogel Cecília.  His paternal grandparents were Poszpischil Fábián and Bakay Anna; his maternal grandparents were Waldvogel Ferenc and Roth Crescentia. He had five brothers and five sisters, named József, Gergely, Ferenc, Ignác, Ignác, Anna, Mária, Cecília, Terézia and Johanna.  He was the youngest of the eleven children.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, gócos tüdőgyulladás, at the age of 80 on October 29th, 1964 in Tata.  The funeral took place on October 30th, 1964 at the Újköztemető .
