James Gait

James was born in 1798 in Midsomer Norton, Somerset and his baptism took place there. James' father was William Gait and his mother was Ann Smith. His paternal grandparents were John Gait and Mary Unknown; his maternal grandparents were John Smith and Anne Parsons Unknown. He had eight brothers and nine sisters, named Thomas, John, William, Joseph Smith, George, George, Samuel, Charles, Sarah, Ann, Mary, Phoebe, Patience, Patience, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Elizabeth. He was the seventh oldest of the eighteen children. He died at the age of 81 on October 28th, 1879 in Stockhill, Somerset. His burial was on October 31st, 1879 in Midsomer Norton, Somerset.
