Ada's father was Daniel Adams and her mother was Sarah Ann Cave. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Adams and Mary (Fanny) Ann Slocombe; her maternal grandparents were William Cave and Elizabeth Hart. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Frank, Richard, William, Florence and Ellen. She was the fifth oldest of the six children. She died in 1957.
