Philip was born in August 1729 and his baptism took place on August 14th, 1729 in Aalburg.1  Philip's father was Caspar Jacobszn Mans and his mother was Maria Hendriks Verdoorn.  His paternal grandparents were Jacobus Mans and Michieltje Dirckx; his maternal grandparents were Hendrik Janszn Verdoorn and Magdalena Ariens van der Flier. He had two brothers named Jan and David.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 70 on May 24th, 1800 in Wijk.1
