David was born in April 1732 in Aalburg and his baptism took place there on April 26th, 1732.1  David's father was Caspar Jacobszn Mans and his mother was Maria Hendriks Verdoorn.  His paternal grandparents were Jacobus Mans and Michieltje Dirckx; his maternal grandparents were Hendrik Janszn Verdoorn and Magdalena Ariens van der Flier. He had two brothers named Jan and Philip.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 57 on June 1st, 1789 in Aalburg.2
