Rabbi Yaacov was born in 1894.  Rabbi Yaacov's father was Rabbi Moshe Yehudah Sankevitch and his mother was Sarah Sankevitch.  His paternal grandfather was Reb Sania Sankevitch and his paternal grandmother is <Unknown>; his maternal grandfather was Reb Yechiel Rosenberg and his maternal grandmother is <Unknown>.  He had three brothers and two sisters, named Reb Menahem, Reb Hirsh, Reb Chaim, Hadas and Golda.  He died at the age of 61 in 1955.
