Gangaram was born on December 18th, 1920 in Tanga. Gangaram's father was Abhechand Virchand Solanki and his mother was Hirubai Jivan Mulchand.  His paternal grandparents are Virchand Manekchand Solanki and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Nagardas, Dayhalal, Kamla bai, Manibai, <Unknown>, <Unknown> and Lilam.  He died at the age of 64 on September 17th, 1985 in Tanga.
