Nilam bai was born on September 16th, 1912 in Diu.  Nilam bai's father is Kalyanchand Motichand Jethva and her mother is Sivkor Manekchand Makwana.  Her paternal grandparents are Motichand Jethva and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents are Manekchand Makwana and Premi. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Kantilal, Bhanudas, Charandas, Dhirajbala and Chandabai. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Yashvant, Vijay, Himatrai and Jyotibala.  She died at the age of 79 in 1991.
