Chester was born on October 18th, 1903 in Farm North of Carneiro, Ellsworth County, Kansas.1   Chester's father was Charles   Alfred Gregory  and his mother was Emma Bealby.  His paternal grandparents were Charles  and Ann Elizabeth Brown; his maternal grandparents were James Bealby and Ann Brown. He had five brothers and a sister, named Ralph  , Courtney, Wilmer, Walter, Henry and May.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died in an accident or as a result of an injury, Cleaning of a Gun shooting accident, at the age of 14 on August 28th, 1918 in Hospital, Ellsworth County,  Ellsworth, Kansas.  He was buried in Ellsworth City Cemetery (Old), Ellsworth, Kansas.1
