Ens. Joseph Gorham 
Joseph was born on February 16th, 1654 in MA, Barnstable Co, Yarmouth.1 Joseph's father was Capt John Gorham and his mother was Desire Howland. His paternal grandparents were Ralph Gorham and Margaret Stephenson; his maternal grandparents were John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley. He had four brothers and six sisters, named James, John, Jabez, Shubael, Desire, Temperance, Elizabeth, Mercy, Lydia and Hanna. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 72 on September 7th, 1726 in MA, Barnstable Co, Yarmouth. He was buried in MA, Barnstable Co, Yarmouth, Ancient Cemetery.1 General Notes

m. c1678 to Sarah Sturgis (c1656-bef 3 Feb 1738/9, sister of Edward Sturgis, Jr., husband of Temperance Gorham, and Hannah Sturgis, wife of Jabez Gorham) and had children Sarah Gorham (16 Jan 1678/9-9 Sep1705), Joseph Gorham (15 Apr 1681-24 Apr 1742), Samuel Gorham (Oct1682-bef 27 Apr 1712), John Gorham (28 Feb1683/4-died young), Desire Gorham (Apr 1685-23 June 1749, married John Baxter, son of Temperance Gorham and Thomas Baxter above), Isaac Gorham (Oct 1687-1714), Hezekiah Gorham (Aug 1689-1714) and Josiah Gorham (2 Dec 1692-1 Apr 1775)
