    • Billerica, Middlesex County, MA 1850/1855 Census Excerpt comment:

      1. The 1855 report indicates that Eliza Gorham was born in 1812 while the 1850 report indicates she was born in 1808.  Believe the 1855 age =47 years was a typo.
      2. The 1850 census report indicates that Eliza M. Gorham was 18 while the 1855 census report does not indicate that she exists.  Believe she probably married and left home or she may passed away by accident or illness.
      3. The 1855 census report lists 17 year old Sarah Gorham to be born in 1838 and the 1850 census report lists 12 year old Antoinelle Gorham to be born in 1838.  Believe that the two entries represent the same individual and that her given name was Antoinelle Sarah Gorham.  Apparently, she preferred to be called Sarah.
John was born on May 4th, 1809 in Havana, Cuba.1   John's father was James Lane Gorham and his mother was Charlotte Kneeland.  His paternal grandparents were Capt Benjamin Gorham and Nancy Ann Hinckley. He had two sisters named Matilda and Charlotte.  He died at the age of 73 on April 24th, 1883 in 50 Kent St.West Somerville, Mass..
