Sarah was born on January 22nd, 1817 in Newton-by-Folkingam Lines, England.1   Sarah's father was William Bealby and her mother was Elizabeth Wright.  Her paternal grandparents are William Bealby and Mary Scott. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named William, Eliza, John, William, George, James, Richard, Mary, Elizabeth and Emma.  She was the oldest of the eleven children.
