James was born on June 29th, 1828 in Newton on Trent, England.¹   James' father was William Bealby and his mother was Elizabeth Wright.  His paternal grandparents are William Bealby and Mary Scott. He had six brothers and four sisters, named William, Eliza, John, William, George, Richard, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth and Emma.  He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 57 on January 15th, 1886 in Carneiro, Kansas.  He was buried in MULBERRYPrairie Mound Cemeteyr, Mulberry Township, Ellsworth County, Kansas.OUNTY, KANSAS.^2 1
