Mr Thomas Cory

Thomas was born in 1622 in Northampton - England and his baptism took place on November 16th, 1622 in Harpole - England. He died at the age of 84 on May 2nd, 1706 in Watertown.

General Notes
- Through DNA analysis it has been shown that Thomas is related to current residences of Harpole, Northampton, England.
  
  Harpole is a small village that has had a long list of Cory Families. In the records of the Harpole Parish can be found a Thoomas Cory that may have been this person. The birth date of 1622 is taken from the christening records of the parish and he has been attached to that family. This has not been provied and should only be viewed as a tentative connection to the Harpole Corys.
  
  First heard of at Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Mass where his name appears on Chelmsford's oldest tax list in 1671. He paid 12 shillings for the Townes engagment to the minister. He was a soldier in the Kings Phillips War, 1675-1676.
  
  He worked as a blacksmith.
  
  Some information says he and brother John set sail from Devonshire England in 1657/58. They landed in Charleston, Mass. In 1662 they were granted land by the crown in Chelmsford, Mass. John Cory moved to RI or CT and started his family.
