Sidney Gerald was born on October 2nd, 1871.  Sidney Gerald's father was William Wharin and his mother was Mary June Dunn.  His paternal grandfather was William Wharin and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Butterworth; his maternal grandfather is Jonathan Dunn and his maternal grandmother was Jane Wallis. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Herbert William, William Jarvis, Herbert Jonathan, Fannie Gray, Florence Sarah, Edith Annie and Mabel Gertude.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 74 on January 3rd, 1946.
