Josephine "Jose" was born in 1917.  Josephine "Jose"'s father was Giovanni Fornara and her mother was Amelia Bassetti.  Her paternal grandparents were Carlo Fornara and Elisabetta Aghina; her maternal grandparents were Guiseppi Bassetti and Carolina Tamagni (wrong name?).  She is the fifth of six children.  She had a brother and four sisters, named Silvio, Margaret, Elizabeth "Betty", Eleanora and Serafina.
