Harry Potter's parents were killed by Lord Voldemort when he was one, but he survived somehow, protected by his mother's love. This attack left him with a thunderbolt-shaped scar on his forehead.

He has brilliant green eyes, the same as his mother’s, black hair, perpetually messy, sticks up in the back, same as his father's.
He wears round glasses; he is short and thin, with knobbly knees. He has a lightning-bolt scar on forehead.
