Caroline Fairman
Caroline was born on May 4th, 1816 in
Sussex, England. She died at the age of 89 on February 27th, 1906 in
Dayton, Tippecanoe, Indiana. She was buried after 1906 in
Dayton, Indiana.

- The death of Mrs. Caroline Fairman occurred at noon Tuesday at the home of her son, Charles Morris, in Dayton, IN. She had been ill a week and the immediate cause of death was pneumonia. Deceased was born in Kent, England in 1816 and came to this country in 1859, locating in New York. She was married to John Morris in Kent and he lived until 1861. Nine children were born to them, four of whom are living. Two sons served in the civil war and one was killed in battle. The children who survive are Charles, Dayton and George Morris of Monticello, IN., Mrs. Lottie Godfrey and Mrs. Elizabeth Avery. Mrs. Fairman moved to Dayton in 1864 and the following year was married to William Fairman who died in 1885. Mrs. Fairman joined the Episcopal church while living in England but when she came to the United States changed her membership to the Methodist church and was a power in the church of Dayton. She was a woman of many excellent traits of character and during her long life was the author of many kind deeds. The funeral was conducted from the Methodist church in Dayton Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Martin of Thorntown, IN officiated and was assisted by Rev. R. D. Utter. The interment was made in Dayton cemetery.
