María was born on June 24th, 1877.  María's father was Francisco (Franz) Juan Fiant (Fient) and her mother was Adelina (Alina) Imhoff Imhassli.  Her paternal grandparents were Elías Minnig Schmid and María Antonia Kresentia Magdalena Fient Wenger; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Imhoff and Cresentia Imhassli. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Juan, Juan, Leopoldo, Juan, Josefina and Adelina.  She was the oldest of the seven children. She had two half-sisters named Otilia and Emilia.  She died at the age of 78 on April 27th, 1956.
