Harriett was born in 1831.  Harriett's father was James Austen and her mother was Mary Drury.  Her paternal grandparents were John Austen and Jane Sawyer; her maternal grandparents are ?? Drury and May. She had a brother and two sisters, named Ambrose, Maria and Eliza.  She was the youngest of the four children.
