Jemima was born on November 20th, 1814 in St Albans, Herts., UK.  Jemima's father was Thomas Woodland and her mother was Ellen Phipps Findell.  Her paternal grandparents were William Woodland and Sarah Rawlenson ??; her maternal grandparents were William Findell and Elizabeth Phipps. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John, Edwin, William Henry, Charles, James, Alfred, Thomas, Ann, Adelaide and Rosalena.  She was the second oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 48 on May 15th, 1863 in Hoxton.
