  He died at the age of 56 on March 31st, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Utah USA. The funeral took place in Mountain View Cem Idaho. He was buried in Mountain View Cem Idaho.²

    - Joseph Spillman, son of Samuel and Susannah was born in 30 Aug 1861. Joseph died 31 March 1918, in SLC, Utah. He was buried in the Mountain View Cem Idaho grave S-45-1-3-W. It took us 2 trips to the cemetery to finally find the marker. It is just a small, flat, rectangular piece of cement that says "Spillman." His record is in the SLC cemetery office.

    Most of the surviving children of Samuel and Susannah who joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) emigrated to the USA first residing in southern Idaho and Utah. Joseph Spillman married Margaret Wallace in Salt Lake City, Utah, 30 June 1897. Joseph's son Alexander, died of TB, 26 Mar. 1947, and is also buried in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. He died in the hospital in Ogden, Utah. I want to check on Robert Spillman, son of Thomas and Mary, to see if some of that family joined the LDS church as some of his siblings did. Robert's son Robert is listed in the 1861 census as being a foreign missionary. I am curious to know if he was a missionary for the LDS church and where he served.
