Joseph was born on January 17th, 1800 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on February 16th, 1800 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Joseph's father was William Simmans (LinenDraper) and his mother was Sarah Belchar.  His paternal grandfather was Simmans and his paternal grandmother is <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Giles Belchar (Baker) and Elizabeth Mears. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William, William, Charles, John, William, James, William, James, Elizabeth, Amy, Sarah and Sarah.  He died at the age of 54 on April 14th, 1854 in Barking Essex.  The funeral took place on April 18th, 1854 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.  He was buried on April 18th, 1854 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.2 3 




Joseph's family

Joseph and Rebecca were married in a religious ceremony in March 1845 in East London.5  They had a son named Joseph.
