George was born on February 28th, 1840 in Shop Street Barking and his christening took place in 1840 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.  George's father was William Simmans (shoemaker) and his mother was Hannah Cabburn.  His paternal grandparents were William Simmans (LinenDraper) and Sarah Belchar; his maternal grandparents were William Cabburn (Excise Officer b Gt Marlow ?) and Elizabeth Cuff. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, William, James, Thomas, Walter, Elizabeth, Sarah, Hannah and Sarah.  He died at the age of 51 on July 27th, 1891 at 14 St Ann Rd Barking.  The funeral took place on August 2nd, 1891 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.  He was buried on August 2nd, 1891 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1 2 3
