Roger was born on June 29th, 1934 in Ilford Essex and his christening took place on July 29th, 1934 at St Margarets Barking.  Roger's father was Albert Arthur Savill (Builder).  His paternal grandparents are Charles Edward Savill and Harriett Cardy. He had two brothers and a sister, named Colin, Brian and Vivien.  He died at the age of 65 in 1999 in New Zealand.
