Martha was born on December 11th, 1814 in Barking Essex and her christening took place on December 14th, 1814 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Martha's father was Andrew Quash (pos born Exeter) and her mother was Elizabeth Hall.  Her maternal grandparents were John Hall and Ann. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Andrew, William, John, Ann, Eliza, Susanna and Emma.  She was the third oldest of the eight children. She had a half-sister named Elizabeth.  She died  due to Disease of the brain at the age of 52 on August 31st, 1867 in Fisher Street Barking.  The funeral took place on September 6th, 1867 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.  She was buried on September 6th, 1867 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.2 3

Martha and John were married in a religious ceremony on November 7th, 1834 in All Saints Poplar church witnessed by Elizabeth Hill & William Smith.4  They had two sons and two daughters, named John , Thomas, Martha and Emma.
