Martha was born on October 23rd, 1852 in Barking Essex and her baptism took place in 1853 at St Margaret's Church Barking. Martha's father was Charles Dunsdon (Fisherman) and her mother was Sarah Lewsey. Her paternal grandparents were Charles Dunsdon (Fisherman) and Mary Lucas (Mangler); her maternal grandparents were John Lewsey (Servant/Carrier) and Sarah Sharp. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Frederick, George, Sarah, Eliza, Alice and Mary. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 75 on August 7th, 1928 at 14 St Bernards Road East Ham. The funeral took place on August 12th, 1928 in St Patrick's Cem Leytonstone. She was buried on August 12th, 1928 in St Patrick's Cemetery Leytonstone.¹¹
